Residential Eviction Moratorium Extended in Oregon through June 2021
The Oregon legislature passed HB 4401 on December 21, 2020. The bill will go to Gov. Brown for signature shortly. HB 4401 extends Oregon’s residential eviction moratorium through June 30th, 2021. The law also provides for $220 million in relief funds for landlords. Landlords will be required to apply for the funds to reimburse unpaid rent, but will only be eligible for the funds if they agree to forgive 20% of unpaid rent.
The final language of HB 4401 has yet to be released, but we will continue to update information as it becomes available on the Buckley Law website. If you are a landlord and have any questions, please reach out to the Buckley Law real estate practice group at 503-620-8900.
